Minimum kernel / driver
AMD GPU driver 30.30.x, 30.20.x, or 30.10.x (or legacy 6.4.x KMD). Kernel per OS varies. See AMD's ROCm 7.2.1 compatibility matrix for the full per-OS table.
Verified 2026-08 against AMD's official ROCm 7.2.1 compatibility matrix (docs-7.2.1). OS support newly includes RHEL 10.x and Debian 13. AMD's matrix names the exact patch releases 2.7.1/2.8.0/2.9.1; normalized to their parent minor versions (2.7.0/2.9.0) since this site tracks PyTorch at minor-version granularity everywhere else. Release date resolved to 2026-03-25 via AMD's official ROCm release-history page (rocm.docs.amd.com/en/latest/release/versions.html) — this page sides with the release-notes page's date over the compatibility-matrix page's disagreeing 2026-04-23, so that earlier ambiguity is now settled. Status changed from an earlier 'supported' to 'eol' now that ROCm 7.14.0 and 10.0.0 have shipped and superseded it — see the 6.4.3 entry's notes for this site's status heuristic.
